How did you go from ecommerce to AI?

The thread was always building systems that turn messy real-world signal into something useful. I got into web work around the first tech bubble at the University of Iowa, worked in market research, and started Rocket Web in 2010. Ecommerce gave me real workflows, real money, and consequences when something didn't work.

AI widened what I could build and became the basis for Guidance Systems. The commerce work still informs it. Rocket Web's current focus on merchant ownership, Mage-OS Lab contributions, and proving the result is part of the same direction. A CEO runs Rocket Web day to day; I am involved in its direction, tools, and engineering methods. I also explain that work through Field Notes and videos.
